The Havana Shirt from Japan’s Soundman is inspired by vintage Cuban Guayabera shirts, whose roots date back to the late 19th century. Traditionally, Guayabera shirts are defined by two or four pockets and vertical rows of finely sewn pleats.
Made in Japan from 100% dry cotton Panama cloth, the Havana features an open collar, two chest pockets, and two hip pockets, all finished with button closures. Intricately sewn pleats run on either side of the front button placket, while the inverted pleat at the back gives the shirt its relaxed, traditional silhouette.
Cut with a boxy fit and finished with corozo buttons, it’s a refined summer shirt with the quiet elegance of a classic Cuban work shirt.
