The Freenote Cloth Calico Gold Corduroy Shirt takes the classic Western shirt and tidies it up a little.
Freenote started with the traditional sawtooth design, then removed most of the teeth. The chest pocket flaps finish in a single curved point, echoed by the curved front yoke. The result still looks unmistakably Western, just cleaner and a little less busy.
The fabric is an 8 oz, 13-wale Japanese corduroy in a rich gold-brown colour. Substantial enough to feel like a proper shirt, but not so heavy that it starts pretending to be a jacket. The cord has a soft, broken-in character after rinsing, with plenty of texture and depth.
Construction is classic Freenote. 1/8-inch double-needle stitching, Japanese pearl snaps, and a custom horn collar button with a Southwestern design. Even the small things have been considered, which is usually where the good stuff starts.
It comes pre-shrunk and rinsed, so the fabric already has some life in it straight out of the box.
