Vintage late 1940s, early 1950s MOE Brothers Light, Inc., desk lamp in pearl grey metal. Included is a used GE15-watt daylight fluorescent bulb. A 1951 MOE Light, Inc., catalog describes the lamp as "handsome desk lamp with removable base ornaments for accommodating pen and pencil sets." The indented slots running horizontally along the front of the lamp will accommodate pens or pencils as well. The base of the lamp is also metal, with a felt-like finish. Visible between the bottom metal plate and the side edge of the lamp are two white plastic electrical nuts, leading us to believe the lamp was rewired at some point. The plug has two even-sided prongs. The shade has the appearance of airplane wings, and the overall look, with both rounded and linear elements, is very Art Deco. The central support is accented with an applied gold-colored sprig of wheat. Push-button on and off switch. Present on the underside of the shade are a union label and a faded MOE Lights, Inc., label.
