Founded by designer Chihiro Imai in 2000, Soundman takes inspirations from 20th century European and American tailored, work, military and sportswear to offer
"stylish low-tech clothes” designed from a 21st century perspective. Chihiro Imai has loved vintage wear since he was young and became a clothing designer. In the late 90's, he worked as the general manager of NewRepublic Japan, a NewYork brand, before launching Soundman in the spring/summer of 2000.
