This poncho is crafted from 100% natural sheep's wool, sourced from sheep that graze in the Serra da Estrela, one of Europe's most stunning national parks.
These sheeps, a breed known as Bordaleira, are hand-shorn by local shepherds, ensuring their comfort as temperatures rise in the park. Bordaleira sheep produce short wool, which is transformed into a fleece. The fleece is spun into yarn, and in a traditional factory, the poncho is woven on looms that are over 150 years old, each with its own unique character.
Measuring 180x160cm, the poncho is finished with hand-made fringes, crafted by local women in the valley.
